To the little old lady who walked into that small rural Peruvian health clinic that fateful Monday…
I don’t think either of us would have expected how that day would change our lives. To me, I will never know what happened with you, and you will never realise the impact you have had on my life.
I honestly wish I could have done more for you. I honestly wish I was better prepared, better trained or at least could speak better Spanish. I did the best I could at the time, but I will never know if my best was good enough.
Our system needs doctors who want to make the world a better place for people, and not only for those who can afford it. Not for the status, not for making it rich fast. Neither for pride nor for praise; because it sounds good that you can announce to others “I’m studying Medicine”.
But just for the simple reason that they honestly want to help others. If you can tell me that with utmost dedication and truth, you have my respect. If not, seriously, get lost and give your place in medical school to someone who deserves it much more than you do.
I love the design of these stairs and how they incorporate a wheelchair access ramp.
This is brilliant. Saves space and looks artistic at the same time.
i can foresee lots of people tripping on these steps and then needing the wheelchair ramp.
Fucking genius. Damnnnn.
Woah.

This is probably going to get quoted in every publication just because I said it. And I’m not even saying anything. I’m not talking about my films, I’m not talking about my life, and I’m not talking about the world. And yet, the media will print it simply because I said it. And at this moment in time, I bet there is an artist around the corner of this hotel, on the street, with a mind far beyond ours, but we will never listen to him simply because he has not appeared in a movie. And that is what is fucked up about our culture. — Robert Downey Jr. (via quote-book)

Name Jennifer Hom Blog
Location San Francisco
First post 2008Jennifer Hom began life as a Chinese American girl in suburban Long Island, New York. As a minority with few friends, she found happiness in drawing fairies, unicorns, magical flying unicorns, princesses, and flowers. With the help of a terribly optimistic mother, she used her countless drawings of magical beings to enroll at the Rhode Island School of Design. Now graduated with a BFA in illustration and a sweet gig at Google, she managed to find a home with climate control. She is still Chinese American, but wants to be a Broadway star.

Next time when I have a business, I want this sort of fancy pansy stuff which people won’t mind using as bookmarks.
